Supplementary Feeding
Our cattle are reared in commercial conditions on grass and we do not supplementary feed with grain, only with pasture hay when essential. We do not agree with the practice of feeding sale bulls with grain or manufactured cattle pellets in order to show big weights on sale day.
We have learned from experience that bulls fed this way will often go backwards in condition and not perform well at joining when faced with the reality of living on grass. Unfortunately bulking up bulls with feed has become a common practice.
